Who Am I

My name is Daniel Totolici/ 庹丹阳.

I am a AI engineer, traveler, lifelong learner, and curious observer.

This website is a map of my journey so far.

Timeline

Born in Madrid

Madrid, Spain

I grew up in Madrid, Spain from a Romanian immigrant family seeking a better life. I was raised most of the time alone and I spent all day playing with my legos imagining myself in a different world.

Humble beginnings are the foundation of great things.

Discovering programming

I discovered programming when I was 12 years old. I started learning how to code by myself and I was hooked. I started building games in unity and code GTA V mods.

Curiosity found a language.

Started university

UC3M, Madrid, Spain

I started studying data science and engineering at UC3M. I was introduced to the world of AI and I was hooked. In the meantime I founded 'Bluebee' a real estate startup that helps people find the perfect home with my best friend.

AI is the future and I want to be a part of it.

Moved to USA

Lake Delton, Wisconsin, USA

I moved to the USA for 4 months as a work and travel visa. I lived in a cabin in the woods where I met wonderful people and I learned a lot about the USA and the American way of life.

Life started to make sense.

Exchange program in University of Waterloo

Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

I started an exchange program in University of Waterloo in the winter of 2026. The cultural diversity and the way of life is something I've never experienced before.

Everything happens for a reason.

Moved to China

Beijing, China

I always been curious about China and I wanted to see it with my own eyes. I moved to Beijing to study Mandarin at Peking University for 2 and a half months.

Wisdom never comes from books, it comes from experience.
